Bonaparte's Gulls
A flock of Bonaparte's Gulls visits Blackthorn!

Yesterday we were visited by hundreds and hundreds of unfamiliar gulls! They spent the entire afternoon swooping around the bay making cute little frog-like calls and diving into the water, presumably feeding. I finally brought my camera out for the first time this year and captured some pictures of our visitors. Hope you enjoy!
Note: I originally mis-identified these as black-headed gulls, but thanks to a handy birding book we have onboard, I've corrected that.
